My campaign support and funding:
so your vote is not a guess
Candidates don’t have to tell voters who funded and supported them until after the election.
Hastings deserves transparency before voting starts.
You should know who stands behind the people you’re being asked to elect.
This page shows every dollar I’ve spent to date, organisations that have supported me, and every known hour my volunteers have given.
I’ve challenged my fellow candidates to do the same.

My campaign spending at a glance
“Not even one fellow candidate has disclosed their funding and support.”
“When I first announced that I would run for Mayor of Hastings, I challenged my fellow candidates to publicly disclose who is supporting their campaign, financially and politically. I asked them to match my pledge to do this before voting opens on 9 September.
It is disappointing that as of today, not even one fellow candidate has responded to my challenge.”
As promised, this page includes a full report on spending and support for my mayoral campaign.
When I first announced that I would run for Mayor of Hastings, I challenged my fellow candidates to publicly disclose who is supporting their campaign, financially and politically. I asked them to match my pledge to do this before voting opens on 9 September.
It is disappointing that as of today, not even one fellow candidate has responded to my challenge.
I am deeply disappointed that the people of Hastings will not have full information about who is standing behind every name on the ballot paper.
Under our current electoral rules, candidates don’t have to disclose who’s funding them until after the election. That means voters will be asked to make some of the most important decisions for our district’s future without knowing who is standing behind each name on the ballot.
I would encourage Hastings voters to add their voices to my call for openness in our local elections, and approach other candidates directly for this information if they feel comfortable doing so.
My commitment to transparency is not just for this campaign. As Mayor, I will make sure the Council is working for the people it is elected to serve. That’s why, if I become Mayor, I will ensure Council is always open and accountable to Hastings people. And that goes two ways; community feedback will be front and centre in all major council decisions.
To fellow candidates: let’s raise the bar. There’s still time. Let’s lead the country. Let’s make Hastings a place where leadership starts with trust, and campaigns start in daylight, not behind closed doors.
The people powering this campaign
In-kind support is time and skills given instead of cash. Here’s who showed up…

18 amazing, everyday Hastings people volunteered at the “Wendy for Mayor” launch function in June, backing someone they know and trust.
Pictured here is (left to right) Hayley (friend), Collette (auntie), John (dad), Rick (former neighbour), Cherrie (mum), Mark (honorary uncle), my daughter, Tamsin (friend), my son, Louisa (friend and former employee of Upstart), Lucy (youth volunteer), Rachel (friend and former employee of Xplore), Suzy (former neighbour), Karen (Godmother), Aimee (sister-in-law).
The only in-kind support I have accepted from organisations was for my June campaign launch. This included a $128.87 discount from Mardigras Event Hire for lighting, raw video footage of the launch from Indelible and use of St Andrews Hall.
I have received no support from individuals or groups who have held political roles in the past 12 months, or beyond.
None of my family, volunteers, or supporters have links to party political or associated organisations in the past year.
